The Project
Applied Coral Restoration and Innovation Science (Acoris) is a student-led reef restoration initiative and environmental NGO at James Cook University. The brief was to craft an identity for the newly formed Acoris as a way to kickstart their activities. The project entailed both a brand and a visual identity, as well as an applied web design.
It is always refreshing to start a branding project from scratch. Because I was familiar with my commissioner, I was given the freedom to build Acoris’ brand personality and story. I felt that it was only fitting for a student-led organisation to feel approachable and family-like.
I was also requested to do an alternate version of the Acoris logo, specifically for their merchandise line. This logo would be used strictly in their merchandise, such as stationery and apparel.
