The Collective


   80 BEN St. is a collective by NAFA students for NAFA students. Leveraging NAFA-backed resources, we use our platform for struggling students to get into the arts scene beyond their school foyer~

    Since our inception in December 2023, we've sold works by 90+ participants—students, staff, and alumni—at events like Singapore Art Book Fair and The Workshop Market by Print & Print. Knowing our multi-talented community, we want to move forward by extending our calls outside the design faculty.

   Co-founding 80 BEN St. was a sudden and hectic process. I was dumped with a million responsibilities in the middle of my internship, and, for what I thought was a meeting to discuss how I could help organise NAFA’s first Singapore Art Book Fair table, I was instead handed the entire project. As Co-Founder, I formed our little team of six, organised the schedule, managed the activities, liaised with lecturers and student volunteers, and the whole lot. As a team member, however, it was more than being a cog in our small machine; I was a limb in the embodiment of young, hungry artists/designers who wanted to step into the creative field despite the perceived intimidation and exclusivity. I had the opportunity to work with so many talented creatives and got to see the behind-the-scenes of Singapore’s biggest art markets. Speaking from where I am now, and even when we first started, I would never give this opportunity up for anything.
